UK girl group Remember Monday have described their upcoming Eurovision performance as “the most incredible experience in our entire lives” as they prepare to represent the UK at the 2025 song contest in Basel, Switzerland, next month.
The trio, Lauren Byrne, Holly-Anne Hull and Charlotte Steele, first met at sixth-form college over a decade ago and have since carved out careers in musical theatre before forming their band.
They’ll be taking their energetic entry What The Hell Just Happened?, a feel-good anthem about a wild night out, to the Eurovision stage on May 17.
Speaking at the Swiss Ambassador’s residence in London, in which The Standard was in attendance, Hull said the group were overwhelmed by the warmth of the Eurovision community.
“The Eurovision community and everyone we've met, we feel like all of that we're taking with us,” she shared.
“We genuinely feel - and I know we sound like a broken record saying this, we genuinely feel so grateful and so honoured to be welcomed with such open arms into this community and we genuinely want to meet every single person out in Basel.

The group, known for their tight harmonies and theatrical flair, will be aiming to improve the UK’s track record at Eurovision. Last year, Olly Alexander placed 18th with Dizzy in Malmö, and Mae Muller came second from bottom in 2023 with I Wrote A Song.
Helping shape Remember Monday’s stage performance is creative director Ace Bowerman, who has worked with the likes of Dua Lipa, Blackpink and Bebe Rexha. Byrne recently teased that the staging idea was “scream-worthy”.
Their Eurovision journey has already included a promotional tour across Europe, with one particularly famous stop in Northern Iceland.
In the fishing town of Húsavík, the trio recorded a special version of Húsavík (My Hometown) - the Oscar-nominated ballad from Netflix’s Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga.
They were joined by a choir of Icelandic schoolgirls - the same choir who performed the song at the 2021 Academy Awards.

Back in Basel, excitement is building ahead of the grand final, with semi-finals scheduled for May 13 and 15.
The contest is returning to Switzerland for the first time in 35 years, and enthusiasm is sky-high, especially in the UK, which has sold the third highest number of tickets, behind only Switzerland and Germany.
BBC Studios’ executive producer Andrew Cartmell also confirmed that this year’s opening ceremony will see Remember Monday and the other 36 acts take part in a unique parade through Basel - riding on vintage trams through the city’s streets.
